This Kinney Drugs was designed as an anchor of a mixed use development on Butternut and Townsend Streets. Its creation was triggered by the recent construction of St. Joseph’s hospital across the street. This strategically located pharmacy will work in tandem with the nearby hospital to bring health to the region.
The site planning of this Kinney Drugs deviates from the typical suburban drug store. Instead of withdrawing from the sidewalk, this store embraces and activates it with windows and lighting. Instead of presenting an island of parking to the street, this store presents activity.
