This section of Farmingdale, Long Island is a car centric community whereby large scale retail stores are typically surrounded by large vast swatches of parking lots. Though we did not design this overall suburban plan, we were presented with the opportunity to transform an old underutilized retail establishment into a shinny new Raymour and Flanigan 35,000 square foot retail store. The facade design has become a well established iconic colonade parti that permeates all the stores they build. My job was to enhance as best as possible the details and the overall look and feel in order to excentuates the premise of the store’s charter, which is to display and sell furniture.
