An old underutilized structure that has been somewhat of an eye sore in the community can have new life, literly that is, as an urban garden on a vertical scale. This parking garage seemed to have outlived its usefulness in the area, and thus this study took advantage of new technology to provide greening and urban gardening for the community. This research project undertaken by Nichole O’Loughlin one summer was an investigation into the methods by which walls can be transformed into living entities that could help to clean the urban air, keep buildings cool and provide areas of green delight.
