Witherill Commons is where all the students hang out to relax or meet for study groups. It’s the first major social center that one sees upon entering past the main entry gallery of Hubbard Hall. This project we developed a processional atmosphere whereby students can view exhibits by students and faculty in display cases and sit around tables or lounge settings in order to mingle with peers. The project was completed in 20013, though the interior was modified by the school board to eliminate display cases, and rather than a more up to date modern space, they opted to instead install mundane molding and nondescript finishes which underwhelmed the senses.
