With a growing student enrollment, Cazenovia College asked me to prepare drawings for the potential expansion and renovation of a small piece of property they owned in the town of Cazenovia. The dorms were to house around thirty two students with a kitchen and shared bathroom setup. The existing structure was an old house that required considerable upgrade. Once again the classical style was requested by the school board, thus maintaining a consistent look throughout the campus. I’d much preferred to update this style to a more modern look, but as architects we typically bow to our clients’ request. In the end, the project never went forward.
