My Californian friend sent me this link last night, which I’m sure most of you have seen: 29 Things People from Syracuse Have to Explain to Out of Towners. If you haven’t, you need to.
We’re weird, we get it. But we’re proud! We love CNY, Dinosaur, salt potatoes, the sacred color orange, half moons and Heid’s.
But here’s what I want to know: If my Californian friend came to Syracuse, what would be the #1 thing she had to do before she left?
See a game at the Carrier Dome? Ride bikes at Onondaga Lake Park? Grab a coffee at Café Kubal downtown? Ice skating in Clinton Square (weather permitting)? Or attempt to investigate the 29 things that only we – Syracuseans – can explain.
What would YOU tell an out-of-towner coming in for a visit or passing through?
Don’t forget about the CNY region as well: kayaking in Skaneateles, wine tasting in the Finger Lakes, hiking in Ithaca, apple picking in basically every county, or a trip to Cooperstown for the baseball hall of fame?
What will it be Syracuse? What do you want to show off as our best attraction?
