A new 75 unit housing project is under construction on the corners of Solar Street, Spenser Street and Clinton St. in Syracuse. It is the latest venture by well-established Syracuse developer Cosmo Zavaglia, who has built hundreds of apartment units throughout Syracuse over the past 30 years.
Cosmo is the soft spoken quiet type who always seems to have a positive attitude to whatever he does. This project seems no different. When he walked me through the building, you can sense the pride he had for the work he accomplished over the years.
This building is rather long, 280’, and four stories tall. On the top floor, each apartment unit has its own private balcony and a great view of Syracuse. All units range from around 1,100 square feet up to a little over 2,000 square feet, with a mix of one, two and three bedroom units. The going rate will start around $1,200 and range upwards of $2,300 or so says Cosmo.
That neighborhood is about to go through a transformation because of projects like this one and in particular the proximity to Destiny USA. It’s only a few blocks away, you can see the mall from the building. Cosmo has his eye yet on another even larger housing project a few blocks away between Spenser and Kirkpatrick that runs directly next to Onondaga Creek, which he says he’ll start working on next year as soon as he’s finished this one. It seems that Cosmo is on a roll.
The project is expected to be completed around April or May of 2014. For leasing information contact Aldina at (315) 476-9643.
