Open Atelier Architects accepted the Central New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects citation for design award at the annual awards ceremony this last weekend. The award was in the adaptive re-use category for our work in rehabilitating the Historic Grange Building. The Grange was previously awarded a Preservation Award of Merit from the Preservation Association of Central New York. The Grange Building sits on the corner of Water Street and S. Warren, in Hanover Square. The Building was vacant prior to the renovation and is now three activated residential units and a first floor commercial space. “We love an opportunity to bring properties back to life, especially properties that have strong histories and character such as the Grange Building”, said firm principal, Anthony Catsimatides.
